Flood Studies

KS Associates has worked with local municipalities to resolve, mitigate or better understand flooding and floodplain issues that can have a direct impact on the respective community. Examples our Flood Studies include:

I90 – Colorado Flood Study, Avon, Ohio
KS was responsible for the evaluation and preparation of a study, which showed the effects of a proposed Creek crossing. The study was submitted to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for review. The study showed that this proposed improvement would reduce the limits of the floodplain as shown on the original Flood Insurance Rate Maps.

Shadow Creek Flood Study, Amherst, Ohio
KS was responsible for the evaluation and preparation of a study, which showed the effects of a proposed Creek crossing. The study was submitted to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for review. The study showed that this proposed improvement would reduce the limits of the floodplain as shown on the original Flood Insurance Rate Maps.

Robinson Ditch, North Ridgeville, Ohio
KS was responsible for the evaluation and revision of an existing study that indicated a much larger flood plain. This study showed that the floodplain area was much smaller than originally shown. This study was submitted to FEMA and resulted in a reduction to the existing published flood study. .
