Shoreline Improvements at Painesville Townshp Park, Lake Metroparks, Painesville, Ohio

KS Associates worked closely with Lake Metroparks for the design, permitting, bidding, and construction of several improvements at Painesville Township Park.

Phase 1 of the project included preliminary design of an armor stone revetment to replace the existing steel sheet pile wall, and several alternatives for a new fishing pier at the park. Phase 1 of the project was completed with the presentation of the preliminary designs to Lake Metroparks in December 2013.

Phase 2 included preparation of 100% design drawings, specifications, cost estimate, bidding phase services, and construction administration and inspection for the construction of the armor stone revetment at Painesville Township Park. Revetment construction was completed in July 2015.

Phase 3 included the design development and securing all environmental and coastal permits for the new fishing pier, including: an individual Section 404 permit from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, an individual Section 401 Water Quality Certification from the Ohio EPA, and Shore Structure Permit, Submerged Lands Lease (modification) and Federal Consistency concurrence from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

The current phase of the project includes the preparation of 100% design drawings, specifications, cost estimate, bidding phase services and construction administration and inspection for the construction of the proposed fishing pier and ADA accessible access path at Painesville Township Park. KS has teamed with Osborn Engineering for the design of electrical and lighting systems for the pier and access path. The preparation of final design documents is in process. Construction of the new fishing pier and access path is underway and is anticipated to be completed in the summer of 2017.

Construction Contract Amount: $2,428,700.
