KS Associates designed three signal replacements for the Oster Road and Abbe Road signal, along with two Ford Plant access drives just north of Oster Road. The designs for signals along Abbe Road included new mast arm signal supports, LED signals with backplates, LED countdown pedestrian signals at Oster Road, radar detection units for stop bar, advanced vehicle detection, signal interconnection between the three new signals using Spread Spectrum radio, and audio actuated emergency vehicle preemption.
KS Associates completed signal design in July 2015. Bids opened in August 2015 and the project was awarded in September 2015. Construction was complete in 2016.
