Engineers Week, February 22-28, 2026, was a great time to celebrate how engineers make measurable impacts on our lives and our world. From expertise in civil and stormwater design to our work in strengthening shorelines, enhancing access to the Great Lakes, and protecting environmental resources — engineers’ work matters! Here’s a recap of KS Associates celebrations:
Inspiring the Next Generation:

On Monday, February 23, 2026, Max Williams, P.E., spoke with Elyria High School students about the specialized field of coastal engineering. He explained how coastal engineering differs from traditional civil engineering and shared real-world project examples. His presentation highlighted the impact coastal engineers have on shorelines, waterfront access, environmental resilience, and community infrastructure.
For most if not all of the students, it was their first introduction to coastal engineering as a career path. By shedding light on a discipline they may not have otherwise considered, Max helped expand their awareness of what is possible within the engineering profession. KS Associates also distributed logo knapsacks and educational materials from the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) to reinforce the message that engineering offers diverse and meaningful opportunities.
Celebrating Our Team:

To close out the week, Lynn Miggins, P.E., president of KS Associates, treated the engineering team to lunch and gave away a cooler with the KS logo. This was a well-deserved opportunity to step away from active projects, connect as a team, and recognize the hard work and dedication that engineers bring to clients every day.
Thank you to every KS Associates engineer for the difference you make this week and all year long.
