KS Associates was among the presenters at the annual Cleveland Engineering Society (CES) Design & Construction Conference on Thursday, April 11, 2024. Mark Cencer, P.E., KS Director of Coastal Engineering Services, co-presented on the Cleveland Harbor Eastern Embayment Resiliency Strategy (CHEERS) project with Kelly Coffman, Principal Planner at Cleveland Metroparks and Linda Sternheimer, Vice President of Planning and Engagement at the Port of Cleveland.
In line with the conference’s maritime theme, “Ahoy! Stewardship in Motion,” the title of KS Associates’ presentation was “Reeling In Resilience: CHEERS Casts a Wide Net for Equity, Sustainability, Coastal Resiliency.”
CHEERS is crucial for safeguarding the City of Cleveland’s waterfront against environmental challenges and ensuring long-term sustainability of this vital asset. CHEERS is also “navigating the tides of change” to cultivate an inclusive environment and foster workforce development opportunities.
CES conference attendees gained insight about the cutting-edge engineering aspects of the project and how CHEERS is contributing to the growth and prosperity of our region.
The CES Design & Construction Conference provides a forum for engineering and technology professionals, researchers, students, professors, policy makers, and consultants to come together to share relevant topics and projects. KS Associates is appreciative of the opportunity to share information about CHEERS and how this project is helping to transform Cleveland’s lakefront.
