New Transient Docks at Rivergate Park Along the Cuyahoga River
Since 2014, KS Associates has been providing surveying and marine engineering services for waterfront initiatives throughout the Cleveland Metroparks district. We have been helping Cleveland Metroparks achieve its goals of reinventing public spaces as safe, clean, and green parks. From 2014 to 2019, KS Associates was under contract for the Professional Design Services Contract 2014-2019. In 2020, KS Associates signed its second five-year contract, the Coastal, Shoreline, Riverfront Professional Design Services Contract 2020-2024. The completion of the second contract will mark a decade-long partnership between KS Associates and Cleveland Metroparks.
Under the current contract, KS Coastal Engineers designed new transient docks and access ramps at Heritage Park and Rivergate Park along the Cuyahoga River:
Heritage Park Waterfront Improvements and Boat Docks – KS Coastal Engineers designed new transient docks, access ramps, concrete retaining wall, and an armor stone revetment along the Cuyahoga River at Heritage Park. The project included stone shore protection, dredging, and landside improvements. The scope of services included surveying, dredge material sampling and testing, above ground and underwater structural inspections, preliminary design, permitting, and preparing construction documents.
Merwin’s Wharf Boat Docks at Rivergate Park – KS Associates designed new transient docks, fixed ramps, and a gangway access ramps along the Cuyahoga River at Merwin’s Wharf at Rivergate Park. The scope of services included surveying, dredge material sampling and testing, above-ground and underwater structural inspections, preliminary design, permitting, preparing construction documents, and construction services.
The docks are open for the public’s enjoyment.
