Westbound I-90 Innerbelt Bridge — Cleveland, Ohio

Innerbelt Bridge Surveying

The Ohio Department of Transportation selected the design-build team of Walsh Construction and HNTB Ohio Inc. for the Westbound I-90 Innerbelt Bridge. KS Associates provided all utility locations, engineering support and surveying services for this major, historical project.

This is by far the largest design-build project in which KS has participated. Construction of the project commenced in 2011 and substantial completion is anticipated in 2015.

About the Westbound Innerbelt Bridge Project:
The Westbound Innerbelt Bridge project will be Ohio's largest single transportation investment ever. The project involves the construction of a new westbound bridge to the north of the existing I-90 Innberbelt Bridge which currently carries eastbound and westbound traffic. When the new westbound bridge is open, the existing Innerbelt bridge will be converted to eastbound traffic, on essentially the same alignment that exists today. The Plan improves safety by realigning I-90 through the Inner Belt Curve to reduce the severity of the curve and by braiding or consolidating ramps within the Innerbelt Trench, which will minimize conflicts between vehicles entering and exiting the highway.

KS Associates worked with the HNTB team to provide design support and surveying services for this project - the largest single transportation investment in Ohio's history.
