KS Associates' ODNR Magee Marsh Shoreline Protection Barrier project received an Honor Award in the 2026 ACEC Ohio Engineering Excellence Awards Program. The 1.3-mile-long barrier protects Magee Marsh, an important coastal wetland. The result of the project is a structure that protects critical wetland ecosystems, mitigates erosion, and enhances Ohio's coastal environment.

KS Associates' entry, "Ohio Nature-Based Shoreline Certification Program and Installation at Old Woman Creek," received the Outstanding Small Project Award - awarded to one project with a construction cost of $2.5 million or less.

KS Associates is leading the second Ohio Nature-Based Shoreline Training and Certification Program that it developed for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Office of Coastal Management. The program is the first of its kind in Ohio that teaches professionals how to design and construct living shorelines.
