KS Associates is leading the second Ohio Nature-Based Shoreline Training and Certification Program that it developed for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Office of Coastal Management. The program is the first of its kind in Ohio that teaches professionals how to design and construct living shorelines.

Mark Cencer, P.E., KS Associates' Director of Coastal Engineering Services, presented "Beneficial Use of Dredge Material for Environmental Restoration - Cedar Point Causeway Coastal Wetland Project" on Wednesday, March 13, at 9:10 a.m.

This pilot project is the first non-federal dredge containment structure to be constructed along the shore of Lake Erie. The lessons learned throughout this project are being applied to future projects aimed at improving Sandusky Bay, other Lake Erie harbors, and throughout the Great Lakes.

KS Associates is celebrating a surveying “first.” In November 2022, our team completed the first elevation survey ever to be performed on the Cleveland Division of Water (CWD) Kirtland Crib. The Crib is a critical component of Cleveland’s infrastructure, drawing millions of gallons of drinking water each day from Lake Erie.
