Representatives from KS Associates, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Office of Coastal Management, and GEI Consultants, Inc. led an education session at the 2023 Ohio Parks and Recreation Association (OPRA) annual conference and trade show. The session, entitled "Understanding the Benefits of Nature-Based Shorelines," was held on Monday, January 20, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.

Cedar Point Causeway Wetlands Breakwater, City of Sandusky, Ohio

KS Associates provided coastal engineering and surveying services for the Cedar Point Causeway Wetlands Barrier — an innovative project for the City of Sandusky. The project is beneficially reusing dredge material that can no longer be disposed of in Lake Erie to create wetlands in Sandusky Bay.

Wave-based erosion is causing instability of the bluffs along areas of SR-531, placing the roadway at risk.
