On Saturday, April 27, 2024, the City of North Ridgeville held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new Police Station, located at 7070 Ranger Way. KS Associates provided site engineering and surveying services to Architectural Vision Group, Ltd. (AVG) for project.
The site was developed to accommodate the 21,326-square-foot Police Station and a separate 7,800-square-foot evidence storage building. The new station replaces a facility built in 1975 that had become costly to maintain and obsolete with respect to the needs of modern law enforcement.
The new Police Station is directly across from the North Ridgeville Academic Center, facilitating expedited response time should police services be required at the schools. The Police Department is now better equipped to serve the City of North Ridgeville’s growing population, which has nearly doubled since the former station was upgraded in 1996.
KS Associates’ services began with a site survey and included a complete site design – from concept through construction documents. KS Associates recommended that the stormwater management basin at the adjacent Fire Station be adapted and expanded to serve the Police Station, resulting in a single pond to handle the needs of both facilities. This not only reduced maintenance costs, but also improved the appearance.
The project went out to bid in September 2022. Construction was complete in early 2024. The entire City of North Ridgeville was invited to the ribbon cutting and community open house.
